How to claim a business that's already listed

If you went looking for your business and found it already in our directory, you're not alone, and there's nothing to worry about. Here's why it happened, and how to take ownership.

If you went to register your business and discovered it's already in our directory, you're not alone, and there's nothing to worry about. Here's why it's there and how to take ownership.

Why your business is already in the directory

When we built this directory in early 2026, we wanted residents to land in a directory that's actually useful from day one — not a blank page with three businesses. So we seeded it with local businesses and professionals from publicly available sources, plus contacts familiar to us through our community work over the years. Everything was refreshed and verified in early 2026, so the information is current.

If your business is in the directory, it's because you're known in Oranit. That's a good thing.

What an unclaimed listing looks like

Unclaimed listings show an "Is this your business?" banner on the business page, inviting the actual owner to take ownership. Until that happens, the listing is informational only: visitors can see your details and contact you, but no one can edit the listing or post on your behalf.

How to claim your listing

  1. Sign in (or create an account and confirm your email).
  2. Either click "Claim this business" in the banner on your business page, or open My account (/account), click Claim an existing business and search for your business name.
  3. Add a short note if you like (for example your role in the business), and send the claim.

What happens next

One of two things, depending on the email address on your account:

  • Auto-claim (instant). If the email address on your account matches the business's contact email or website domain — and you're not on a free-mail provider like Gmail or Yahoo — your claim is verified automatically. The business appears under My account straight away and you can start editing.
  • Review by our team (1–2 business days). If the domain doesn't match, or if you're on a free-mail provider, your claim goes to our team. A real person reviews each pending claim, usually within one or two business days, and you'll receive an email when we've decided.

While your claim is pending

The listing stays exactly as it is. No one — including you — can edit anything until the claim is approved. This protects business owners from anyone falsely claiming a listing, and it protects the community from misinformation.

Once approved

You get full edit access from My account: names, description, contact details, hours, logo and photos. You can ask to upgrade to a paid plan through the Upgrade button or the contact form, and post deals once your business is on Extended.

If your claim is rejected

If our team can't verify your ownership from the information available, the claim is rejected and you'll receive an email explaining the decision. If you believe this was a mistake or you have more information, reply to that email or write to us via the contact page and we'll take another look.

If you don't want to be listed at all

If you'd prefer not to appear in our directory, write to us via the contact page and we'll remove your listing. No questions asked. It's your business, your choice.

If something is wrong with your listing right now

Write to us via the contact page. We'll fix the most urgent errors (wrong phone number, wrong category, closed business) even before the listing is claimed.
